DO NOT submit SOQ’s through the APP portal. Project Description: The City of Chandler (City) intends to rehabilitate the Basha Water Production Facility (WPF), and the Ocotillo and Pleasant wells. The Ocotillo and Pleasant wells both pump directly into the Basha WPF and have a history of pumping sand. The Basha WPF is in need of upgrades that will include upgrades to instrumentation, piping, and pumps. The WPF has been in service for approximately 26 years and supplements the City’s potable water distribution system. They WPF consists of a 2 million gallon (MG) above ground welded steel storage tank, a booster pump station (bps) with supporting equipment including a chlorinator, emergency generator, well pump-to-waste system, storage tank backfill connection, and electrical gear. The WPF is located at 4675 South Basha Road in Chandler, AZ and is surrounded by residential homes to the north, parks facilities to the south, east and west. Two wells, the Ocotillo well located at 4015 South Nebraska Street, and Pleasant well located at 4877 South Pleasant Drive, both pump directly into the Basha WPF. The wells were drilled in 2008 and have a history of pumping sand. The existing reservoir was renovated in 2017, with site improvements completed in 2012. Equipment at the WPF is mostly the original equipment and is nearing or past its anticipated useful service life. The project is anticipated to begin design in Spring 2026. The construction budget is anticipated to be $8M-$9M. Scope of Work: Professional Services for this project will include, but are not limited to, design for the above ground storage tank and appurtenances, booster pump station and emergency generator, site piping and valves, electrical gear, wells and well pumps, chlorination system, pressure system, reservoir fill line system, and the well pump-to-waste and drainage system, cost estimating, and other services for necessary improvements. Condition assessment to be completed for the water production facility prior to design. Upgrades to instrumentation, piping, and pumps is expected. Well evaluation for both wells to include well video, bail, brush well casing and screen, post bail/brushing video for both wells prior to rehabilitated efforts. Well rehabilitation to take place during tank outage. Professional Servies will include all permitting with State, County, and local jurisdictions. Construction Management services may also be included. The scope of work to include pre-design, detailed design, permitting assistance and construction management (if warranted).
