This relationship will be on a consulting or contractual basis, as opposed to a staff position. While not required, preference would be that legal counsel maintains an office in the local area. Counsel will provide general legal counsel to elected or appointed officials, representatives, and employees of the Santa Rosa Island Authority and to represent the Santa Rosa Island Authority and its authorized officers, representatives, and employees on matters relating to the Santa Rosa Island Authority; provide written opinions, draft ordinances and ordinance amendments, review lease renewals, serve default letters to leaseholders and provide legal assistance to all Santa Rosa Island Authority departments in their conduct of business. Attendance at monthly Santa Rosa Island Authority Board and Committee meetings is required. The Santa Rosa Island Authority seeks a fixed rate arrangement for identified legal services. The Santa Rosa Island Authority also wishes to identify a fee schedule and other identified services.
