The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), Public Art Division, is seeking to expand its collection of contemporary sculpture in public spaces. Sculpture is uniquely suited to establishing a visual and social identity for a place, provoking a conversation between the artist and the public, reflecting local histories and stories, and helping us to reimagine our city’s future. DCA is looking for professional LA-based artists to comprise its 2026 Prequalified Roster of Sculptors. Artists selected for inclusion on this Roster will be eligible to participate in Requests for Proposals (RFPs) issued by DCA to commission original, site-specific contemporary sculpture projects for a variety of new public art opportunities throughout Los Angeles. Each sculpture commission opportunity will vary by site, budget, and programmatic context. There will be opportunities for both temporary and permanent sculpture projects. This RFQ is open to professional artists residing in the County of Los Angeles. Review the complete RFQ document (attached as a PDF) for additional information, including eligibility requirements. Eligible artists must submit applications online via SlideRoom at: https://culturela.slideroom.com.
SLED stands for State, Local, and Education. These are solicitations issued by state governments, counties, cities, school districts, utilities, and higher education institutions — as opposed to federal agencies.
