    Description

    The Contractor must provide a Computer Coding program at the following four (4) New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) facilities: Albion, Cape Vincent, Cayuga and Riverview Correctional Facilities; with a year long cohort type enrollment structure for the duration of this contract. The program will operate in a cohort type system, with one (1) cohort at each of the four (4) facilities per year. Each contract year will include training for a complete cohort. There will be a total of 20 students per facility, for a total 80 students per year. The anticipated total of program graduates from all four (4) program sites across two (2) years will be 160 individuals. Classes will run five (5) days a week (Monday through Friday), 50 weeks a year with no classes on federal/state holidays or during lockdowns. Each class will consist of two (2), 3-hour modules per day with a total of 7.5 hours per day, including an unpaid ½ hour lunch and preparation time. Classes are anticipated to begin three months after the contract start date. The program will include a comprehensive curriculum that includes industry recognized computer coding languages that prepare students to become Full-Stack Developers, capable of building the user interface as well as data processing/management portions of functional websites.
