    Description

    The City of Hampton, Georgia (the ¿City¿), on behalf of and for the benefit of its Downtown Development Authority (the ¿DDA¿), is requesting proposals from qualified, licensed, and experienced demolition contractors to provide complete demolition and site clearance services for the existing structures located at 24 East Main Street and 26 East Main Street in Hampton, Georgia (the ¿Project¿). This RFP is issued in full compliance with the City of Hampton Purchasing Policy. The solicitation follows the competitive procurement requirements applicable to expenditures exceeding $50,000, including formal solicitation, evaluation by a designated Evaluation Committee, and required approval of the resulting contract. The process incorporates best practices to ensure transparency, fairness, competition, and protection of public funds and historic resources. The successful proposer will serve as the prime demolition contractor and will be responsible for the safe, complete removal of all above-grade and below-grade structures, protection of adjacent historic and occupied buildings (including shared demising walls), utility disconnection and proper capping/abandonment, hazardous materials handling (if any), debris removal and lawful disposal, site clearing and grading to surrounding elevations, erosion control, and restoration of sidewalks, curbs, and public right-of-way along East Main Street and Cherry Street. All work shall comply with applicable codes, permits, the attached Existing Conditions Assessment and Code Analysis Report prepared by Pond & Co. and Shear Structural dated December 3, 2025 (the ¿Pond Report¿), and the requirements of the Hampton Historic Preservation Commission (HHPC).
