    Description

    The City of Round Rock, hereinafter “the City,” seeks proposals from firms experienced in employee health benefits consulting services. The Employee Benefits Consultant shall serve as a full-service advisor to the City of Round Rock, providing strategic, financial, actuarial, compliance, communication, wellness, and administrative support related to the City of Round Rock’s employee and retiree benefits and wellness programs. Services shall be customized to meet the City’s specific needs and strategic long-term objectives. The City of Round Rock currently has approximately 1,150 benefits-eligible employees and is self-funded for health, pharmacy and dental benefits. The Current self-funded health benefits include two different co-pay plans (PPO and EPO types), covers approximately 2,400 individuals and also includes an on-site health clinic. The health clinic provides personal health and occupational health services. The City pays a high percentage of the employee's health insurance premium and provides subsidies for dependent coverage. The FY 2026 self-funded health insurance budget totals $24,785,000. In addition to health insurance, employees may enroll with dental, vision, EAP, disability, life insurance, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and pre-paid legal/identity theft prevention benefits, and the City’s wellness program. Retirement benefits are with the Texas Municipal Retirement System and 457b Deferred Compensation benefits are with Nationwide Retirement.
