The City of Laguna Beach is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide a suite of tools to digitally analyze and inventory City’s urban forest. This project is being funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, utilizing funds from the Inflation Reduction Act, with GreenLatinos acting as City’s pass-through agency partner. The project's objectives are to:1. Develop a comprehensive inventory of all public trees (including those growing within the public rights-of-way, City parks, City owned parcels, etc.);2. Develop a comprehensive inventory of all privately maintained trees that are growing in public rights-of-way;3. Inventory and assess available public tree planting sites;4. Provide complete tree canopy cover metrics using an aerial LiDAR method; and5. Provide a software program that seamlessly allows interactive search functionality, data viewing, aggregation, analysis, and planning.
