    Description

The County of Riverside Purchasing Department on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Ben Clark Training Center (BCTC) is seeking competitive bids to establish a contract for pre-packaged, ready-to-eat meals to support the Basic Training Academies, as outlined in Exhibits “A” and “B”, pages 8-11 of this RFQ. The Sheriff’s Ben Clark Training Center (BCTC) located at 16791 Davis Avenue, Riverside CA 92518, provides year-round Basic and Correctional deputy training academies to allow working adults an opportunity to train as peace officers during evenings and alternating weekends. There are five to six academies scheduled annually with approximately 60 to 75 recruits from each academy, which require pre-packaged food delivered daily, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, for breakfast and lunch. Meals need to be provided as directed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The length of time required to complete each academy program is generally around six months for Basic Academies. Similarly, the Corrections Academies also follow a comparable time frame, lasting approximately six months. Academies overlap throughout the year, and the awarded vendor must be able to accommodate meal deliveries for approximately 100-250 recruits. The established contract will allow BCTC to order directly from the lowest and most responsible, responsive bidder. The County may award a contract without negotiation; therefore, bidders should submit their lowest pricing initially. The established contract will only be for the duration of the academy, and the Sheriff’s department reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time based on the availability of fiscal funding or poor food quality and performance.
