    Description

    1.1 Scope: The City of Columbus, Department of Public Service is receiving proposals until May 8, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. local time, for professional services for the Vision Zero –Vulnerable Road User Plan (VRU) RFP. Proposals are being received electronically by the Department of Public Service, Office of Support Services via Bonfire at https://columbus.bonfirehub.com/login.This project consists of developing a comprehensive vulnerable road user safety plan that serves as both a supplement to our existing action plan (2023-2028) and informs necessary strategies for our next safety action plan, a pedestrian priority network, and a new 5-year Safe Routes to School travel plan. The project will focus on vulnerable road users defined by their mode of transportation (pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcycle riders) as well as demographic subgroups with traffic safety vulnerabilities. The planning process will require an equitable, inclusive, data-informed approach.All questions concerning the RFP are to be sent to capitalprojects@columbus.gov. The last day to submit questions will be specified in the RFP; phone calls will not be accepted. Responses will be posted on Bonfire at https://columbus.bonfirehub.com/login as an addendum.A pre-proposal meeting will not be held.Notice of published addenda will be posted on the City’s Vendor Services web site and all addenda will be posted on Bonfire at https://columbus.bonfirehub.com/login.The selected Consultant shall attend a scope meeting anticipated to be held on/about two weeks after proposals are due. The projected scope date will be specified in the RFP. If the Project Manager is not available, the Consultant may designate an alternate to attend in their place.1.2 Classification: All proposal documents (Request for Proposal, reference documents, addenda, etc.) will be available for review and download on Bonfire at https://columbus.bonfirehub.com/login after the RFP is advertised.
