Bidding procedures are governed by Massachusetts General Laws (G. L.) Chapter (c.) 149, §44A, and G. L. c. 30, §39M, as applicable and referenced in G. L. 149. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Highway - Construction for the project with an estimated value of $1,456,831 will be required. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the date designated above for the opening of bids. The Contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Bids must be accompanied by a certified, treasurer’s or cashier’s check from a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Acton, cash or bid bond from a surety company. The amount of the bid deposit shall be five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Payment Bond in an amount equal to one-half (50%) of the value of the bid with a surety company satisfactory to the Town of Acton.
