Safe Routes to School 2026

The City of South San Francisco is soliciting bids for the Safe Routes to School 2026 (Project No. ST2507, Bid No. 2709). This project will make improvements within the public right of way around Alta Loma, Buri Buri, Parkway Heights, and Ponderosa schools, with a focus on enhancing pedestrian and bicycle safety for children traveling to and from school. The work includes the construction of new roadway improvements, including curb ramps, roundabouts, raised crosswalks, curb extensions, and associated amenities.

The City is seeking experienced Class A General Engineering or Class C-8 Contractors capable of delivering high-quality roadway and roadside improvements with a focus on maintaining safe access and appropriate traffic control within an active urban setting. The project presents an opportunity to partner with the City in implementing meaningful safety improvements that support the safety of children around schools in South San Francisco.
