Project Description The selected firm will provide an updated professional stamped construction document set for the renovation of the San Carlos Correctional Facility Dementia Unit. This renovation will include renovating 5 cells. The work includes widening cells doors, configuring the cells for hospital beds, and installing combi units to allow to the staff to assist the inmates, providing a new accessible shower room, a renovated cell into a laundry with storage, and dedicated recreation concrete improvements. This RFQ is strictly for the Dementia Unit work within SCCF, with a future similar phase possible. Services will include field verification of existing conditions, comprehensive ADA Title II compliance assessments, design solutions, and preparation of opinions of probable cost. Surveys will be of this area of the facility only. The survey shall include doorways, ramps, thresholds, clearances, reach ranges, paths of travel, accessible routes, restrooms and living unit cells, exterior yard, among other things, are expected to be the focus of the existing conditions. Consultants must follow ADA regulations (as stated above) as well as Office of the State Architect (OSA) adopted codes, regulations, and procedures, including plan reviews and inspections.
