    Description

    Scope This contract is for Washington state agencies and other eligible Purchasers that own or manage governmental properties that want to establish, support, and maintain the safety and security of these properties, service areas, and Washington State employees, customers, and the public via a highly trained uniformed presence (collectively “Security Guard Services”). This contract includes contractors who are certified as WA State small, OMWBE, or Veteran-owned. Some contractors may have multiple certifications. See the links at the bottom of the page for all subcontractors and their certifications. Note: not all contractors are certified. Contract Categories Category 1 - Level 1 (Unarmed) Security Guard: Security Guards who are never equipped with weapons of any kind (including non-lethal). Category 2 - Level 2 (Armed, Non-Lethal) Security Guard: Specialized Security Guards who are always equipped with, and professionally trained to use non-lethal (less than lethal) weapons. Category 3 - Level 3 (Armed, Firearm) Security Guard: Specialized Security Guards who are always equipped with, and professionally trained and licensed to use, a firearm. Category 4 - Add-On Services (Vehicles): Non-emergency motor vehicles (golf carts, ATVs, and automobiles) used to support security services, such as when conducting patrols. Category 4 - Add-On Services (Supervisors): Experienced guards who are on site to supervise the assigned security guard/s, and may be unarmed, armed with non-lethal/less than lethal weapons, or a firearm as specified by Purchaser. Category 4 - Add-On Services (Other): Other add-on services that support, or enhance, security guard services. It is recommended that purchasers seek 3 quotes from awarded Contractors regardless of dollar amount. Since these were competitively bid contracts, and therefore secondary competitive solicitations are not required, obtaining 3 quotes is a best practice to allow for comparison. Purchasers would not be subject to the Delegated Authority limits for these contracts and there would be no requirement for debriefs and protests for these quotes as they are purchases from Enterprise Services approved contracts. DES has ensured this procurement meets RCW 39.26, follows State of Washington Current Procurement Policies, follows DES procurement process, and DES has determined that entering into this contract will be in the best interest of the State of Washington.
