    The goal of this project is to create continuous pedestrian access between Glenwood Springs Middle School and Highway 6 & 24 by installing a new 8 foot sidewalk with curb and gutter, improve drainage in the ditch that borders the south side of the Middle School property, replace the ditch on the east side of Sister Lucy Downey Park with storm pipe, reconstruct the roadway from Highway 6 & 24 to the Middle School entrance, and improve the remaining portion of Soccer Field Road up to Donegan with new asphalt mill and overlay per the design documents in the RFP. Additionally, Alternative 2 for this project will be to do roadway improvements on 9th Street from Bennett to Garfield. Bennett to Palmer is to be mill & overlay only while Palmer to Garfield is a full depth reconstruction with new base course and 4” of asphalt.
