Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid The Work of this Contract includes the removing glass blocks, granite pavement, concrete slabs, and bollards at the street level; repairing sculpture mounted vertical art panels, removing and replacing electric lighting fixtures, repairing or replacing steel beams and concrete walls, reinstalling existing Automated Fare Control systems, and painting columns and beams at the mezzanine level; repairing or replacing drip pan steel structure or concrete slabs on the roof of the southbound tracks and repairing all structural defects in the concrete and steel framing of all ventilator components on the southbound and northbound tracks at the Brooklyn Bridge City Hall station on the Lexington Avenue line. The Work also includes temporarily relocating, protecting, and reinstalling all affected communications and electrical systems to facilitate the Work, abandoning the existing snow melt system, and removing existing lighting systems and installing new normal and emergency (600V DC, 4-hour battery backup) LED lighting systems with associated conduits and wiring. Special Instructions: This contract includes the opportunity to receive an Enhanced Utilization Credit, which is designed to incentivize the use of MWBE firms that have had limited or no opportunity to engage in contracting with the MTA. The Enhanced Utilization Credit Initiative (EUCI), offered by the MTA in partnership with Empire State Development, allows an additional fifty percent (50%) credit toward the utilization of EUCI-eligible firms for this Contract.
