    Description

The City of Charlottesville is requesting quotes for RFQ 26-44 for SUMMIT ELEMENTARY- INCLINE PLATFORM LIFT UPGRADE.

This project will entail partially removing and then upgrading the installed 4-landing incline platform lift at Summit Elementary School (1000 Belmont Avenue, Charlottesville VA). The existing lift has become obsolete and requires immediate upgrade to ensure access to classrooms for students, staff and visitors with mobility challenges.

This project will upgrade the existing Garaventa XPress II (Model GSL-1, S/N 17929) 4-landing inclined platform lift to the Garaventa Artira inclined platform lift system, providing the same number of stops. No substitutions are accepted.

The upgrade will entail replacing all components except for stanchion posts and railing tubes. Lift capacity shall remain at 550lbs. The upgraded incline platform lift will include wall mounted call stations at each landing, pedestal control stations at the top and bottom, and will match the approximate color of the existing stanchions and tubes.
