    Description

    This contract provides for the improvement of Swan Creek between 64th Street East and Pioneer Way East and located within Swan Creek Park. The project area is also within two separate jurisdictions, Pierce County and the City of Tacoma.

    Work includes the installation of engineered log structures using multiple material delivery and installation methods. Most of the work will be constructed below the Ordinary High-Water Mark (OHWM) and shall be completed within the permit specified in-water work windows. The work will include stream isolation and flow diversion and localized dewatering. Executing the work will require personnel with demonstratable experience in successful stream channel construction. The work also includes selective clearing and re-incorporation of all salvage woody material into project elements. Work also includes establishing and restoring staging and access areas, traffic control, trail closure, erosion and sediment control, invasive weed removal, seeding, revegetation, and other work in accordance with and described in the Plans and Specifications.

    A: Herbicide use on the projected is restricted. Chemical control is permitted only in specific instances outlined in the Project Specifications. See Specifical Provision, section 8-02.3(3) - Weed and Pest Control, for information on weed removal requirements.
