    SCOPE OF WORK
    PRISON GST DAY TANK SLAB REBID
    BID NO. WU0426-17


    A. GENERAL
    This contract shall provide for construction of the Prison GST Day Tank Slab and installation of the proposed fuel tank for the City of Beaumont in Jefferson County, Texas. The Prison GST is located at the intersection US69 and Range Road on the Southeast section of the City.

    This contract shall include all necessary superintendence, labor, equipment, tools, materials, painting, safety measures, environmental protection, disposal of surplus items, site restoration, and all other related construction for the proposed lift station.

    B. SUMMARY OF WORK
    This proposed project shall provide for the improvements as shown on the contract plans and  specifications. Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Construction Cost: $162,000.00 This contract includes, but is not limited to, the following:

    1. Construct a reinforced concrete foundation and slab for the proposed diesel storage tank including excavation and backfill, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.

    2. Install an Owner supplied 6,000-gallon diesel storage tank including offloading.

    3. Make all fuel connections from the new diesel storage tank to the existing standby generator including all excavation, backfill, piping, fittings, saw cutting existing generator slab, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.

    4. Make all electrical and control connections between the new diesel storage tank and the existing standby generator including all excavation, backfill for conduit bank, conduits and conductors, testing, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. See attached electrical scope of
    work.

    C. WARRANTY
    The Contractor shall provide a warranty to the Owner for a period of one (1) year from the date of final acceptance to the extent that he will repair any defects which may appear in the equipment or work done due to faulty equipment, installation, or structural repairs.

    D. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
    1. The Contractor shall pay close attention to the project schedule to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner and the lift station can be placed in operation without delays.

    2. Contractor shall coordinate work with Mr. John Pippins at (409) 785-4702 or Ms. Makenzie Watts at (409) 730-4406 prior to commencing work.

    3. The Contractor shall refer to the City of Beaumont’s Ordinances, Sec. 28.04.007 Performance Standards, regarding construction noise within a residential area prior to commencing work on this project.

    4. The Contractor shall complete the City of Beaumont Water Utility Service Agreement for Fire Hydrant Construction Meters. The fee for these permits shall be waived by the OWNER for this project.

    5. It is the explicit intention of the Contract that the safety of the public, as well as the Contractors personnel, is the most important consideration with respect to his/her own operation of all his/her Subcontractors. The contractor shall provide marking, lighting, and other acceptable means of identifying: personnel; equipment; vehicles; work area or condition that may be hazardous to the public. The Contractor shall furnish, erect, and maintain barricades, warning signs, flagmen, and other traffic control devices in reasonable conformity with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (published by Texas Department of Transportation). It is the intent of these Contract Documents to provide and adhere to all requirements as specified in and by construction specifications as adopted by the City of Beaumont, by manufacturer’s specifications, and by standard engineering practice.
