Traction Elevator Modernization at Human Services Northport Facility

Dane County is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the Traction Elevator Modernization at Human Services Northport Facility, located at 1202 Northport Drive, Madison, WI. This project involves the modernization of one (1) existing Heller geared electric passenger elevator located at the Northport Office Building. The scope of work includes new traction machine, operation and motion controls, signal fixtures and ALL associated related work (ie - electrical, HVAC, fire detection/protection) as required by code so as to enable a fully functioning elevator. Primary requirements for this project are spelled out within Specification Section 14 21 20 - Northport Office Building Conveying System. Remaining specifications sections are provided to supplement this work. This project is being delivered as a lump sum contract.

The goal of this project is to have a code compliant, fully functioning Heller geared electric passenger elevator. Work is expected to be performed in coordination with active facility operations, and must comply with all applicable County specifications, City/State/County ordinances, and local permitting requirements.

Interested vendors should have demonstrated experience in elevator maintenance/repair/construction and/or coordinate with applicable subcontractors required to execute this project. Additionally, they should have the ability to manage projects of similar size and complexity. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 11:00 am at 1202 Northport Drive, Madison, WI 53704. All questions must be submitted by Friday, January 30, 2026. Bid packages are due by Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
