Project Overview:

The West of Bayshore Improvements Project is situated on San Francisco International Airport (SFO) property, located west of U.S. Highway 101. This area plays a critical role in conveying stormwater from adjacent municipalities into the San Francisco Bay. All work in this area is regulated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to protect local endangered and threatened species, including the San Francisco garter snake and the California red-legged frog.

Trade Package Title: Vegetation Removal and Site Support (Prequalification only)

Description of the Trade Package Scope of Work:

Vegetation removal and providing site support services for the clearing operation such as water trucks and street sweepers.

Trade Package Bid Due Date and Time: 03/27/26 by 5:00pm

Estimated Cost: <$1,500,000

Main Trades of the Trade Package: General Engineering Contractor

CMD LBE Participation Requirement: This project includes a 20% Local Business Enterprise (LBE) subcontracting requirement, which may only be satisfied using CMD-certified small LBEs or Micro-LBEs. The exact LBE participation requirement will be specified in the Request for Proposals (RFP) for each trade package issued to pre-qualified subcontractors. 

Design-Builder requirements or prequalification criteria:

This pre-qualification applies to work anticipated to occur between 2026 and 2028, within the annual construction window August 15 through October 15.

GBI intends to shortlist subcontractors who:
• Meet all mandatory pre-qualification requirements, and 
• Achieve at least 50% of the total available evaluation points.

GBI reserves the right to reject any or all Pre-qualification Questionnaire submissions and to waive minor or non-material irregularities in any submission.

All pre-qualified subcontractors must hold valid California licenses appropriate for the work they intend to perform.
