Light and medium are the body-on-chassis/cutaway style buses that can be configured in a variety of styles and number of passengers and wheelchairs. Category 1 (aprox. GVWR): 10k-11.5k, Category (aprox. GVWR):12k-12.5k, Category 3 (aprox. GVWR):14k-14.5k, Category 4 (aprox. GVWR): 19.5k, and Category 5 (aprox. GVWR):19.5k+ ***Notice to purchasers on use of FTA funds*** This contract is a State Cooperative Purchasing Schedule Contract under Section 3019 of the FAST Act and complies with the FTA Guidelines. To use FTA funds to purchase vehicles under this contract, purchasers must verify compliance with federal requirements before signing a purchase order for the selected vehicle(s). As part of the verification process, the purchaser must ensure that bus manufacturers will be able to supply the necessary documentation to complete all required pre-award and post-award certifications, including but not limited to: a) 70 percent of the content of the vehicle’s components and subcomponents must be produced in the U.S, and b) final assembly of the vehicle must occur in the U.S. (U.S. address must be provided). DES does not hold the certificates; please contact the Contractor for applicable documentation, certificates, and testing results. ***Notice to purchasers regarding FTA Clauses*** An updated copy of FTA clauses is now available.
