The total amount of the successful bidder's bid security shall be forfeited to City if the bidder fails to execute the contract and furnish bonds and insurance as required by the biddocuments within ten (10) calendar days after being notified in writing by City that the contract award has been made.Bonds – The successful bidder shall furnish performance and payment (labor and materials) bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price (Base Bid plus Alternates, if any) and issued by an admitted surety insurer authorized to operate in the State of California.
