    Description

    Vessel Transportation Services in the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument (PMNM). Bid specifications for prospective Vendors The vendor will provide transportation services for the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife’s Kure Atoll Wildlife Sanctuary field camp that includes: (a) transport of biological field staff (b) delivery of field supplies including but not limited to food, fuel and medical supplies (c) removal of domestic waste created by field crew and (e) other related tasks necessary to support Kure Atoll Wildlife Sanctuary such as removal of marine debris when possible. These services support the Department’s mission to manage the natural resources of Kure Atoll Wildlife Sanctuary. Services requested 1. Transportation and berthing of personnel between Kure and Honolulu and Honolulu and Kure. Transportation for cargo from Honolulu to Kure and Kure to Honolulu a. Passenger rate person/per day b. Price to charter ship/per day Vendor Requirements: • Bunk and dining space for up to 9 persons • 7M Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boats or 9M LCM with GPS units equipped with waypoints and tracks for transport of personnel and cargo to and from remote atolls. • 10,000lb lift capable crane • 20’ open top container for cargo • Vessel operations must be up to date with Federal and State regulations regarding, safety inspections, insurance and vessel registration. • Must maintain a pest free vessel and have up to date hull, ballast water, rodent and pest inspections. Rodent line-guards on mooring lines are required at all times at every dock including Midway Atoll. Must follow all PMNM Best Management Practices. • Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) is required by PMNM. • Vessel must obtain necessary permits, licenses and other documents for travel in the PMNM, and any other compliance or permit requirements for accessing the Monument. The permits and documents are issued by PMNM Board (SOH, NOAA, OHA, USFWS)
