The purpose of this project shall be to improve pedestrian connectivity along the West Wright Street corridor, from A to G Street. This project enables individuals in the neighborhood to safely access A Street to the east, and W Belmont and W Gregory Streets to the north and south of Wright Street. This project includes but is not necessarily limited to demolition of pavement, excavation, cut/fill, concrete paving, construction of curb/gutter, installation of formwork, placement of asphalt, adjustment of water meter boxes, valve boxes, cleanouts, and other utility enclosures, placement of thermoplastic pavement markings, adjustment or relocation of existing landscaping, and sodding. All sidewalks shall meet accessibility requirements as much as practicable including grading and finishing to achieve required cross and running slopes, placement of detectable warning plates, and construction of ramps that do not cause ponding of or impede the flow of stormwater. In addition to the aforementioned scope, the placement of 2 parallel segments of 2” PVC electric conduit and electric pull boxes behind the newly constructed sidewalk shall be included as an additive alternative. Parallel segments of conduit crossing B, C, D, E, F, and G Streets shall be directional bored in at 60” depth to minimize road disturbance and prevent road closures. There is no electric work included in this project, only the placement of infrastructure to support future improvements. This project has a 45 calendar-day completion goal following Notice to Proceed. Maintenance of Traffic is required due to work within the right-of-way. The site shall be always kept tidy, and all soil, debris, rubbish, etc. shall be kept out of the roadway and on open sidewalks. Erosion and sedimentation control may be necessary, and the site shall be inspected regularly by the city inspector.
