    Description

    The Office of General Services, Division of Food Distribution, through this solicitation, seeks a vendor to provide Warehousing and Distribution (delivery) of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) foods in Region L – which includes the counties of Cayuga, Onondaga, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates. The selected Contractor shall receive and deliver federally procured foods from dry, chilled, and frozen environments to approximately 61 recipient agencies consisting of primarily school districts and several childcare facilities. The State considers the following qualifications to be pre-requisites in order to be considered as a qualified Bidder for purposes of the solicitation. Bidders not meeting the qualifications below will be disqualified. Bidders may not use a subcontractor’s or any other entity’s qualifications to meet requirements. The following minimum requirements must be met by each bidder: Bidder’s facility/facilities must be licensed for food storage by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets and provide proof of such upon bid submission. Contractors outside of NYS must be able to provide documentation showing equivalent license for their facility/facilities from the applicable State Authority. NYS Contractors must have a passing score for their facility/facilities from the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. Contractors outside of NYS must be able to provide documentation showing equivalent approval for their facility/facilities from the applicable State Authority. Bidder must have a pest management system in place at their facility/facilities and provide proof of such upon bid submission. The receiving and storage location(s) for USDA Foods must be owned by the Contractor and provide proof of such upon bid submission. Bidder’s facility/facilities must, at a minimum, have storage capacities as listed below for dry, chilled and frozen storage environments. Additionally, the storage capacity listed below must only be reserved solely for purposes of this Contract: Dry Storage Chilled Storage Freezer Storage Minimum Square Footage 11,000 square feet 2,500 square feet 9,000 square feet 6. Bidder’s facility/facilities must be located in close proximity to the counties included in Region L or provide proof of prior experience and ability to provide delivery services to each facility within Region L.
