    The New York State Department of Transportation is assisting AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE), in the selection and retention of a Subcontractor, to provide Work Zone Traffic Control and Access Equipment for Consultant and State Inspection Teams throughout NYSDOT’s Region 11, under Contract No. D042089, PIN: XB26.04 2026-2029 Bridge Inspection Services of the Queensboro Bridge, New York County, Region 11. The selected Subcontractor shall be solely responsible to provide all labor, operators, materials, machinery, tools, and equipment related to Work Zone Traffic Control & Access Equipment for the 2026-2029 Bridge Inspection Services of the Queensboro Bridge, New York County, Region 11. The required work zone traffic control will assist AIE and New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) personnel, or their authorized designee, with the inspection of said bridges. All work, equipment and procedures shall meet as a minimum, the requirements of the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Standard Specifications, MUTCD, regulations, directives, guidelines, policies, procedures, manuals and all applicable laws. Required Experience: As the safety of human lives is at risk, the Subcontractor (and their personnel) shall be thoroughly knowledgeable, trained, and have a minimum of five (5) years of documentable experience in the safe operation and performance of traffic control and any/all types of equipment that shall be used on the project. Additionally, flag persons must have at least six (6) months of documentable experience. All Subcontractors’ personnel assigned to this work shall have the necessary certifications to perform said work and must be able to communicate in a clear and effective manner. All equipment must meet NYSDOT requirements, regulations, directives, guidelines, policies, procedures, manuals and all applicable laws. The project duration is from the beginning of the Contract (anticipated in April 2026) until April, 2030. It should be noted that the majority of the work will be performed from May through December of 2026/2029 with minimal or uncertain amount of work anticipated during winter time. The number of workdays required per crew to provide Work Zone Traffic Control per week will vary from zero to five (0 to 5) days. As many as three (3) separate work crews with all necessary equipment and materials may be required to work simultaneously at any time during the Contract. Also, full and partial day and nighttime closures will be required to complete the work. One contract will be awarded for both day and night work. Should the selected qualified bidder be unavailable for an assignment within the work area, AIE and NYSDOT reserves the right to request and assign the required work to the next qualified bidder. AIE has a prime contract with the NYSDOT, Contract No. D042089, PIN: XB26.04 Region 11 (QBB). All applicable provisions of the prime contract apply to the subcontract. AIE reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities, to invite for new bid proposals and to disregard all nonconforming, non-responsive or conditional bids. Insurance: Insurance requirements are as follows and shall be in accordance with the specifications in the Bid Documents: Policies of Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability Insurance; Policies of Automobile and Truck Insurance; Workmen’s Compensation Insurance; All Subcontractor’s. Permits – AIE will procure all permits necessary to perform work, including, but not limited to entry and temporary lane closure permits. The Award of the Contract will be made within 30 calendar days after receipt of Bids, subject to final approval of NYSDOT. A tabulation of the Bids will be available as requested. Under the requirements of the State Procurement Act all communications regarding advertised projects are to be channeled through the Contract Management Bureau's Designated Contact: Kevin Hussain of AIE. Until a contract is approved, contact with any other NYSDOT or AIE associates or employees concerning this project should not be made unless otherwise directed by the Office of Contract Management. Communications made contrary to this policy and deemed an attempt to influence the outcome, may result in disqualification.
