    Description

    The City of Bridgeport (“the City”) is requesting proposals from Independent Contractors to provide services under the Youth Violence Prevention Initiative.

    The successful Independent Contractor will enter into a Contract that incorporates the RFP and professional expectations that the City of Bridgeport desires with a schedule for the performance of these services to be mutually agreed upon between the parties. The City is seeking to retain numerous Independent Contractors to cover these services.

    The Bridgeport Police Department is committed to partnering with the community to provide quality police services and to create a safe environment through fair and impartial enforcement of the law. We promote dignity and respect while recognizing the needs of our diverse community in our responsibility to maintain order and protect individual rights.

    Background

    Bridgeport is the most populous city in Connecticut. The US Census Bureau's American Community Survey estimates the city's 2024 population to be 151,616.  The State of Connecticut provides funding to the City of Bridgeport for the purpose of the Youth Violence Prevention Initiative. This initiative is to support programming with youth violence prevention initiatives with anti-gang strategies.
