As many weapon platforms within the Department of Defense moved from ODS to HFCs, the need has arisen to ensure a sustainable supply of these Mission Critical compressed gases is available. Projected need extends beyond the year 2060. To that end, The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) will initiate a large acquisition of two (2) mission critical virgin HFC compressed gases, determined by the Services to be the most critical at this time; Heptafluropropane (HFC-227ea) and Hexafluoropropane (HFC-R236fa). These items will be placed in static storage at DLA, Richmond, Virginia until such time as they are needed. DLA intends to award a firm fixed price contract supporting the HFC gases listed below.
