NOTICE OF INTENT INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: AKTINA Medical Active Breathing Coordinator (ABC) Equipment Upgrade THIS IS NOTICE OF INTENT TO SINGLE SOURCE ACTIVE BREATHING COORDINATOR (ABC) EQUIPMENT FOR THE GREATER LOS ANGELES VAMC: This is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available, and telephone requests will not be honored. The Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 22 Long Beach intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Single Source contract to AKTINA Medical. This contract is for the replacement and upgrade of existing equipment, as well as the sustainment of streamlined procedures. AKTINA Medical is the designer and sole manufacturer of these products. No other vendor or distributor produces this equipment, and AKTINA Medical has provided proof of this exclusivity. VISN 22 Long Beach and VAMC Greater Los Angeles have standardized the AKTINA Medical brand Active Breathing Coordinator (ABC) for the Radiation Oncology department. The ABC helps minimize tumor movement and aids in accuracy and ability to treat the tumor. It improves the precision and effectiveness of radiation therapy, leading to better patient outcomes and reduced side effects.
