Background/Justification The West Haven VA s Respiratory Therapy Service is requesting the purchase of Vapotherm HVT Transfer units. These devices help support breathing for patients experiencing respiratory distress and/or hypoxemia without the need for a mask, enhancing patient comfort. Without this equipment, VACT will lack non-invasive ventilation support options. The device is particularly effective for post-extubation support and as a primary treatment for respiratory distress.
