    STATEMENT OF NEED Stryker ProCuity LEX Hospital Beds GENERAL: James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH) located at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612, has a requirement for Stryker ProCuity LEX Hospital Beds to activate the new 5 South unit in the Acute Care Service. BACKGROUND: James A. Haley VA Nursing Acute Care requires the acquisition of Stryker ProCuity LEX hospital beds to activate the new 5 South unit. The new unit will comprise of 13 private rooms providing patient privacy, better infection control, enhanced comfort and recovery, improved patient experience, and positive health outcomes. These beds are already being used in the Polytrauma service. The beds are designed with numerous safety features such as low-height settings (11.5 inches) to reduce the risk of falls, integrated bed exit alarms, and advanced braking systems. They help ensure that patients are less likely to experience injuries as a result of the fall from a bed. PURPOSE: The Acute Care Service requires Stryker ProCuity LEX Hospital Beds to activate the new 5 South unit. SCOPE: Vendor shall provide Stryker ProCuity LEX Hospital bed. The vendor shall provide white glove delivery. Installation and assembly and complete set-up will be included. The equipment feature is essential to the technical requirements to meet the needs of the Government.
