    Description

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for quotes. The Department of Veterans Affairs East Orange VAMC intends to award a Sole Source open market action contract for the purchase of two (2) Biofire Filmarray Torch Module Boxes. Name of Contractor: Biomerieux, Inc. Street Address: 515 Colorow Drive City, State, Zip: Salt Lake City, UT 84108 The East Orange VAMC Molecular laboratory located at the East Orange VA Medical Center needs Biofire Torch Modules that have capability for running the BioFire Diagnostics Respiratory panel, Gastrointestinal Panel and Blood Culture Identification panel. The analyzer delivers accurate results testing for the most common pathogens associated with an infectious disease state. Both the RP, GI, and BCID panels will provide improved, comprehensive, result turn-around time as compared to traditional methods and reduce downstream testing. The reason that this is the recommended sole-source is because the lab already has two Biofire modules but has requested two more to go with current system; the Biofire Torch, which is the only system that the Module boxes have compatibility with. These are add-ons to an existing unit that work seamlessly.
