1.0 DISCLAIMER This Request for Information (RFI) is issued in accordance with FAR 10.001 to determine the availability and technical capabilities of qualified sources. Please respond to the questions in section 3.0. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The FAR Provision found at 52.204-7(b)(1) requires that all offerors obtain a UEI to register in SAM. You may access the SAM website at https://www.sam.gov. This notice is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this notice. This RFI is part of a continuous process for obtaining the latest information on the commercial status of the industry with respect to their current and near-term abilities. The information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for, or award, a competitive contract. It is emphasized that this is a notice solely for planning and informational purposes. 2.0 DESCRIPTION OF ANTICIPATED NEED The Upstate New York VA Medical Centers of Albany, Buffalo, and Syracuse Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (PLMS) have a requirement for Blood Bank screening and anti-body ID products for use with VA Medical Center owned Ortho Clinical Diagnostics ID-MTS Workstations. All products provided shall be FDA approved for use with the ID-MTS Workstations. Additionally, the products must be FDA approved for immediate use with Ortho IgG gel cards and Ortho workstations, without secondary validation before use. The VA is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the capabilities to meet the requirement. The Government intends to award a firm, fixed-priced contract for a base year plus four (4) option years. The product numbers referenced below are those of QuidelOrtho Clinical Diagnostics and are meant to be descriptive but not restrictive.
