ACALIS LIFE OF TYPE BUY

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD announces its intention to solicit a proposal from Lockheed Martin, Orlando, FL. NAVAIR intends to procure Acalis 3U VPX COTS Chips for the F/A-18E/F Infrared Search and Track (IRST) Processor Weapons Replaceable Assembly (WRA). NAVAIR intends to negotiate this effort as a sole source modification under an existing order.
This procurement is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” Lockheed Martin originally procured this part and a Life of Type Buy (LoTB) is currently being pursued for this procurement.
This synopsis is for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information and a technical capability statement with sufficient detail that clearly demonstrates the capability to produce the required products in response to this notice. The Government will utilize the capability statements received solely to confirm the sole source acquisition approach or to reconsider a competitive procurement.
