Closed Solicitation · DEPT OF DEFENSE
AI Summary
The Department of Defense is seeking a contractor for preventive maintenance and engineering support services for the Advanced Blast Load Simulator. This IDIQ contract has a capacity of $1,000,000 and a five-year ordering period. Contractors will provide necessary personnel and technical assistance to ensure the simulator operates to required standards.
The Structural Mechanics Branch (SMB) of the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) of the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) currently conducts R&D by operating an 8-ft x 8-ft Blast Load Simulator (BLS-8) that is used to evaluate structural targets subjected to shock waves produced by compressed gasses. To increase the testing capabilities of ERDC beyond the current physical constraints or size of the BLS, SMB is constructing a 12-ft x 12-ft Advanced Blast Load Simulator (ABLS-12) which will soon be used in large scale testing at ERDC. This new system is nearly complete and in the final stages of calibration testing. With this new system, comes the need for the development, and performance, of Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Engineering Support Services. The Contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision and other items and services necessary to provide non-personal technical assistance to ERDC-GSL as defined in this PWS. The Contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract. Contract is for an IDIQ with a capacity of $1,000,000.00 and a 5-year ordering period (for ordering up to five years or until max capacity is met) to conduct specialized experimentation in the ABLS Facility.
