Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) for Flight Test Use
Background & Scope: AFRL/RQ requires small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) assets to provide realistic scenarios for the development of advanced UAS technologies. Currently, AFRL/RQ does not have any common assets to support this function at the AFRL test site at the WrightPatterson AFB, OH
Requirements/Salient Characteristics: Per DoD mandate, sUAS used by the DoD and DAF must be purchased from approved vendors and meet specific manufacturing and cybersecurity requirements. The DoD has established the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to identify sUAS vendors and systems that meet these Statute requirements and provides a list of approved systems at the following website - https://www.diu.mil/blue-uas-cleared-list.
