APPROACH LIGHTING SYSTEMS BPA

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a Blanket Purchase Agreement on a single source basis to Control Industries Inc., Findlay, OH, for the acquisition of multiple components used throughout the National Airspace System (NAS) in multiple approach lighting systems. The assemblies are used in the following lighting systems: Runway Edge Lighting; Runway Identifier Lighting (REIL); Approach Lighting System with Sequenced Flashing (ALSF1 and 2); Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI); Visual Approach Slope Indicator with Sequenced Flashers (SSALF); Simplified Short Approach Lighting (SSALR); Medium Intensity Lighting System Flashers (MALSF); Remote Radio Control System (RRCS); and Medium Intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway Alignment Indicator Lights (MALSR).

In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. Controls Industries Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for these components and replacements are only available through them.

The proposed principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 336413, Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing, with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,250.
