TREATMENT PLAN & REPAIRS OF COKE OVENS The National Park Service, Region 2, South Atlantic Gulf, intends to award a Firm Fixed price contract for A/E design services for a Treatment Plan and Structural Repair Design for the Chadwell Gap Coke Ovens located in Cumberland Gap National Historical Park in Middlesboro, Kentucky. This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source. The determination to select Liz Sargent HLA for the services is based on logical follow-on of the Determination of Eligibility (DOE) for the National Register of Historic Places and the Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) for the Chadwell Gap Historic District. It will benefit and be a cost savings to the government to contract the LSHLA and WJE team because of their prior knowledge of this structure and site, as well as their expertise in historic construction. The existing DOE and CLR were already accomplished by the contractor has been accomplished. The treatment plan and structural repair design will require continued research which is a logical follow-on of existing work already accomplished. Additionally, it is in the best interest of the Government to stay with the original contractor to decrease potential costs on the overall project by saving on unnecessary manpower for re-accomplishing research that was already accomplished. It is the only source that can provide the services required for this completion of this project. NAICS Code: 541330, Engineering Services, Standard business size is $25.5M. The National Park Service is presently using SAM/FBO to issue synopsis for Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Justifications and Sources Sought. The synopsis may be viewed online at: https://beta.sam.gov. FBO will be the only means of obtaining the amendments and will be able to receive electronic notification of solicitations and awards. CAUTION: This synopsis will be issued electronically as will any amendments. The Government is under no obligation to maintain a bidder's list. It is incumbent for any interested parties to obtain any amendments which may be issued.
