AI Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an architectural and engineering (AE) firm to conduct a critical mechanical study of six air handling units (AHUs) under presolicitation C1NB--AE CRITICAL AHU MECHANICAL STUDY 583-25-521. The project involves evaluating and documenting performance deficiencies of AHUs servicing various areas, including operating rooms and pharmacy compounding areas. Bidders must account for undocumented changes and provide comprehensive recommendations, cost, and time estimates in their final report. This opportunity is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBC) and is classified under NAICS Code 541330.
This AE Summary of Work (SOW) addresses VA requirements for the evaluation and documentation required to improve the performance of six different air handling units (AHUs) servicing multiple areas. Two AHUs, 37A & B, service the fourth-floor operating room area; AHUs 50 & 61 service the pharmacy compounding areas located on the seventh floor, and AHUs 20 & 29 service the sterile processing (SPS) area . All requirements have been combined into one AE SOW. In some instances, the SOW is separated to allow for different requirements for each set of AHUs and in other instances, the SOW is combined when the same information and performance is required for all. The sections that apply to AHU 37 A & B are designated 37AB ; the sections that apply to AHU 50 & 61 are designated as 5061, and the sections that apply to AHU 20 & 29 are designated 2029 . Where the section applies to all, it is designated with ALL . The AE shall be aware that there are likely several undocumented changes that have been added to these AHUs over time. The information provided in this SOW is based upon a thorough review of all available documentation. If the modifications were not included in the project files, modifications cannot be verified and are not included. The AE will be required to develop all such missing information. This SOW is for the evaluation and documentation of the deficiencies found. No design effort beyond investigation, development of recommendations, preparation of time and cost estimates, and report preparation is required. The final report(s) formulation shall include verbal presentation of recommendations, cost, and time estimates to VA Engineering personnel.
