    Description

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE for market research purposes only. This is not a solicitation for proposals, a request for quotations, or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This notice is to assist the United States Space Force (USSF) in determining the availability of qualified and experienced sources for the design, development, and fabrication of a custom tracking ball controller system. The Government is not seeking pricing and will not accept unsolicited proposals.

The Government requires a custom remote control solution to operate existing K-Mount optical tracking systems. The objective is to make these mounts remote-capable, allowing them to be placed inside a facility where personnel cannot be present. The core of this effort is the development of a force-proportional tracking ball controller that can successfully interface with a legacy, non-Windows-based operating system unique to the K-Mount system. This is a developmental effort, and a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution is not available to meet the Government's needs.
