    Description

The Air Force has a requirement to purchase a total of 1,500 (units) Filter Insertion System (FIS) Screens that are U-1C Airborne Particulate Sampling Foil components. The screens are used in support of its particulate collection system and are a key structural component in the debris collection system. The screens are part of the assembly that is placed directly into the air stream outside of the aircraft and as such are exposed to extreme temperatures and stresses. Therefore, these components must be manufactured to specifications and there are no suitable substitutes or commercial items that with minor modifications could be used as this is uniquely used exclusively for governmental purposes. Screens are to be manufactured per drawing MAT-A-1169 and all of the requirements outlined therein. A first article and inspection reports will be required for this requirement.
