FIREPROOFING CHEMICAL, COATING COMPOUND

This notice is being published in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals.

The proposed procurement is for a one-time, firm fixed price purchase of 113,000 lbs of Fireproofing Chemical, Coating Compound, Thermal Insulation, commonly called thermal coat resin to support McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP).  International Paint, LLC currently has the conforming product on the Qualified Product List (QPL) which has been tested and approved for use on MCAAP’s production lines.  The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii), sole source under the simplified procedures for certain commercial items.  A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.

The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred related to this notice.
