The American Innovation and Manufacturing Act (AIM Act) targets several Hydrofluorocarbon gases for phase down of production as previously occurred with Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS). As many weapons platforms within the Department of Defense moved from ODS to HFCs, the need has arisen to ensure a sustainable supply of these Mission Critical compressed gases are available. Projected need extends beyond the year 2060. To that end, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) will initiate a long-term contract supporting eleven (11) mission critical HFC compressed gases. These items will be placed in static storage at DLA, Richmond VA where they will be issued to military customers as needed.
