INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE - 2 BK MEDICAL E14CL4B BIPLANE ENDOCAVITY TRANSDUCER TRANSRECTAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PROBES

This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal.  The National Institute of Health intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with the following vendor: GE Precision Healthcare LLC (BK Medical Holding Company, Inc.).

Acquisition Description:

Request to urgently procure 2 BK Medical E14CL4b Biplane Endocavity transducer Transrectal and Transvaginal probes catalog number 9048. GE Healthcare is now the distributor for these probes.  This is a request to procure more so that multiple cases can be performed in the same day.  The probe is specifically requested to support Dr. Pinto and Dr. Woods prostate biopsy fusion cases.  This probe is an upgrade to the existing probe providing better image quality and ease of use.  With sterile processing transiting to the B1 space more probes are needed to support the amount of time it will take to turn the probe over in-between cases.

The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.  A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
