INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE - MUNSON BOATS

The 355th Contracting Squadron intends to issue a sole-source procurement action for the procurement of the following items:

32' PackCat Landing Craft (Munson Boat):

• CLIN 0001: One (1) Each (EA) 32' PackCat Landing Craft (Munson Boat)

*This requirement does not yet have funds. Award of a contract is dependent on receiving funding*

This requirement is accomplished in accordance with FAR Part 13.501(a) “Soliciting from a single source”. WILLIAM E. MUNSON COMPANY is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the identified PackCraft Landing Craft Munson boats. While Internet research did identify vendors capable of providing similar boats, none offered these specialized munson boat products which are mandated per the AFI 10-3503. Thus, WILLIAM E. MUNSON COMPANY has been determined to be the only known source capable of providing the mandated munson landing craft. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source procurement action under NAICS 336612 and is not a request for competitive proposals. Parties who wish to challenge this sole source action must submit an interest letter that demonstrates the firm’s ability to fulfill the requirement. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered.

Responses received will be reviewed in detail; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be reviewed solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or not. The 355th Contracting Office will not reimburse parties for any costs connected with providing capability information.
