INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE SHIPBOARD CLOTHING DRYER SYSTEM

The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order for six commercial dryers for use onboard CGC Aspen and CGC Kukui. The vendor will be AUTOMATED LAUNDRY SYSTEMS & SUPPLY CORPORATION, Unique Entity ID NVHGY39W8ND3, CAGE/NCAGE 0B0E, 360 E 100TH AVE Anchorage, Alaska 99515-2601, United States.

This action is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Automated Laundry Systems & Supply corporation designed a compatible laundry system solution for the CG Cutter Aspen and Kukui that will successfully interface with the cutter’s material requirements, space configurations, and electrical configuration, factors unmatched by other systems identified through comprehensive market research. Adapting alternative systems would necessitate costly and time-consuming vessel modifications, electrical system alterations, and extensive testing, leading to unacceptable delays and risks. Consequently, Automated Laundry systems & Supplies Corporation is the only source capable of meeting the requirements without incurring excessive costs and jeopardizing operational readiness.

USCG Base Ketchikan, Ketchikan, AK 99901, will be the procuring entity for this effort. The Government intends to acquire commercial items using the provisions, clauses, and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 333310.
