INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE TO FANUC AMERICA CORPORATION FOR REPAIRS ON A FANUC ROBOTIC ARM AND CONTROLLER.

Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Contracting Department, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract to Fanuc America Corporation. The product need by the agency are available from only one responsible source or only from a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of property or services will satisfy the needs of the agency. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based on market research and is solely within the discretion of the 
government. As evidenced in the sole source justification provided by the requiring activity there 
is only one contractor that has specific qualifications that meet the peculiar requirements of this 
contract. The qualifications for this posting are unique and are shown in the attached Sole Source 
Justification for repairs on a Fanuc robot arm and controller. This acquisition is being solicited on an unrestricted basis. Even though the intent is for sole source contract, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. Quotation are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement through email submission.
