    Description

    General: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Lee County Health Clinic (LCHC), 2489 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL 33909-5422, has a requirement for a non-personal services contract to procure new impact glass panels, remove existing broken and damaged impact glass panels and install new impact glass panels in the building s curtain wall system. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, insurance required and other items necessary to remove/install 40 (forty) new impact glass panels. Glass panels are located throughout the facility. The Contractor is responsible for verifying all window measurements. The Contractor is responsible for disposal of old glass panels. Window Specifications: The glass panels will be replaced with units that meet hurricane impact requirements for the area of Florida and maintain Emergency Preparedness for projectile as required by National and State Codes. Glass unit characteristics are listed below: 5/16" Blue Green (or closest match to original color), fully tempered. VRE-59 #2, edge deletion 7/16" airspace - mill finish, Argon filled Sightline: 1/2" silicone (Black) 1/4" Clear, heat strengthened .045" clear PVB General Requirements: The Contractor shall be responsible for providing a 12 x12 glass panel product sample for color acceptance and glass panel construction acceptance. The Contractor shall be responsible for measuring and verifying all glass panel sizes. The Contractor shall be responsible for contracting the manufacturer of the required glass panels. The Contractor shall be responsible remove of existing glass panels, gaskets, and other materials. The contractor shall be responsible legally and properly dispose of old glass and materials. The Contractor shall be responsible for the preparation of surfaces for new glass panels installation. The Contractor shall be responsible for installation of new glass panels and gaskets as well as sealing the windows in place. The Contractor shall be responsible for establishing connections to building structure, returning the building to its constructed state. The Contractor shall be responsible to supply a lift or any other (if necessary) as required for glass panel installation. The Government/VA will not furnish any equipment or materials. The exterior glass panels shall meet original specifications provided. All work shall be performed with limited interruption to facility. Upon completion all work shall be inspected and accepted by VA. The contractor is responsible for any damage caused by contractor to Government property during execution of work and will repair, at no cost, to the Government. The contractor personnel shall wear attire or uniforms appropriate for accomplishment of their work and wear identifying badging or ID of the individual and/or company. It is the responsibility of the contract personnel to park in the appropriate designated parking areas. All work shall be conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations. The contractor shall always be escorted by a VA employee while performing this contract. The contractor shall wear visible contractor identification, provided by the contractor, while performing this contract. Smoking is not permitted within or around VA Facilities. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing a weekly written progress report during glass panel ordering and glass panel manufacturing which contains manufacture name, production percentage, production issues, projected delivery date and projected installation start date. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing a daily written progress report annotating issues, glass panels installed and location and next day installation schedule. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing a copy of Liability insurance and a copy of Workers Compensation Insurance. The Contractor owner/company principal shall be responsible for attending, in person, the VA onsite Glass Panel walk through. If Contractor is utilizing a sub-contractor, said sub-contractor shall and must be present for the walk through.
