NOTICE TO INDUSTRY
Disclaimer: This is a Notice to Industry on a change in requirements and is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on the information contained in this posting or information received as a result of this posting.
Subject: Notice to Industry for change in requirements for Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) W912CH-25-R-0022.
Background: The M1110 JAB is an Army Acquisition Category (ACAT) II program replacing the legacy M48/M60 tank-based Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge (AVLB) and Wolverine systems. The JAB system is a fully-tracked armored combat engineer vehicle specifically designed to provide Armored Brigade Combat Teams assault bridging capabilities to support maneuver elements. Using the M1A1 (with A2 suspension) Abrams chassis as the basis for the system, the JAB provides equivalent crew protection and vehicle survivability, while having the necessary speed and cross-country mobility to keep pace with maneuver forces. The JAB launches and recovers the Army’s existing hydraulically actuated Heavy Assault Scissor Bridge (HASB), Military Load Class (MLC) 115.
Purpose: The purpose of this notice is to notify industry of the change in requirements for the quantity of JAB Chassis as posted on the DRAFT RFP released on 19March2025.
Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) is issuing this Market Notice on behalf of the requiring activity, Project Manager Force Projection (PM-FP) Product Manager Bridging (PdM Bridging), as a means of providing full transparency regarding the JAB production requirement.
REFERENCE: SAM NOTICE: "JAB-Sources-Sought-September-2025" for a Sources Sought Notice to identify interested parties with resources to support the JAB requirements for an estimated 18 JAB Chassis, as identified above.
The DRAFT RFP released 19March2025 included:
In June 2025, the AAO was reduced from 297 to 256 JAB systems, which was further reduced in July 2025 from 256 to an Army Procurement Objective (APO) of 213 JAB systems. This reflects a reduction of an estimated 84 systems or 66% from the estimated 126 systems to 42 systems. The current contract with DRS Sustainment Systems Incorporated (DRS-SSI) includes an Option to order additional JAB Chassis through 10May2026, and as a result, the Government intends on ordering the estimated FY26 quantity of 20 systems from DRS-SSI prior to 10May2026.
Retrofit of an estimated 120 systems, as solicited under the DRAFT RFP is now future year requirement and is anticipated to be solicited under separate requirement.
