    SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.

    Quote is for product only; no on-site services permitted.

    Source selection will be based on Lowest Price and Technically Acceptable Method (LPTA).

    Technical evaluation criteria are as follows:

    1. Must be demonstrably compatible with JEOL X3-series Electron Spin Resonance Spectrometers
    2. Must be able to achieve a variable temperature range of 2.5 K to 420 K.
    3. Must be able to achieve a 15 minute cool down time from 293 K to 2.5 K
    4. Must achieve a temperature stability of ±0.5 K
    5. Must not consume more than 1.5 L of liquid Helium per hour at 4.5 K
    6. Must accept a dewar adapter diameter of 5/8 inch
    7. Must be compatible with a power supply of 100V – 200V AC, 1 Amp
    8. Must accept sample tube with 5 mm outer diameter
    9. Must be compatible with the following JEOL ESR cavities: ES-UCX2, MCX1A, MCX3B, ODMRC, 14040DMC
    10. Must include the following components: the cryostat itself (inclusive of heater and  sensor), transfer line, dewar adapter, Flow meter, and temperature controller
    11. Must be compatible with liquid nitrogen and gaseous nitrogen for measurements between 80 K and 400 K.
    12. Must be compatible with a 600L/min vacuum pump for measurements between 4.2 K and 2.5 K

    • The resulting purchase order will be issued on a fixed price basis. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory Terms and Conditions for Fixed Price Commercial Supplies and Services (Rev. August 2023) will be made a part of the resulting order.
    • Payment Terms will be NET-30 (SLAC is unable to do advance payments and or Prepayments).
    • Freight terms will be FOB Destination Prepaid and Add
    • Foreign Vendors Shipments will be made CIP SLAC, Menlo Park, and Duty Unpaid.
